Lincoln-Sudbury committee rates Superintendent Wong proficient in end-of-cycle review

SUDBURY — July 12, 2022 — Lincoln-Sudbury rates Superintendent Bella Wong proficient, flags communication gap. The Regional School Committee closed its end-of-cycle summative evaluation Tuesday with proficient marks across all four state standards, and consensus described as "high-end proficiency bordering on exemplary" on fiscal systems. Members were more divided on communication and shared vision, citing survey data showing only 32 percent of parents and guardians recognize the district's Portrait of the Graduate, adopted in 2019. "It wasn't the type of communication, it was the wording," the chair said, recommending Wong build a communication-campaign goal into her next cycle. The committee also unanimously adopted the PARS post-retirement health care trust effective July 1, 2022, authorizing the district treasurer to administer the OPEB fund for EDCO retirees, with administrative costs charged to the trust and an annual management fee paid to the district.
