Goodnow trustees adopt three-minute public comment rule
SUDBURY — March 7, 2023 — Goodnow Library Trustees adopt public comment policy and back Indigenous history grant. The board unanimously approved a new policy giving residents three minutes each, capped at 15 minutes total per meeting, to address trustees after approval of minutes; the language warns that comment "is not a discussion, debate or dialogue" and that speakers should not expect a response. Trustees also unanimously signed a letter supporting a Library Services and Technology Act grant led by Trustee Katina Fontes and Library Director Natalie to centralize Sudbury's Indigenous history materials, with a draft due April 23. The director said the library will begin offering free notary services, filling a gap left by the town offices, and reported the new children's chess club has doubled from 20 to 40 participants. The semiannual book sale is March 23, with a 9-to-10 a.m. early hour for seniors.
