Conservation Commission approves chipper storage along Bruce Freeman Rail Trail

SUDBURY — January 23, 2023 — Sudbury Conservation Commission clears chipper storage and a utility-staging lease as Bruce Freeman construction starts. The commission unanimously approved a minor modification to the rail trail's order of conditions allowing AA Will Corp. to park a tree chipper overnight in jurisdictional buffer zones on a 10-mil poly pad ringed with 12-inch straw wattles, after general contractor John Pastore argued the machine's one-mile-per-hour speed made daily removal riskier than leaving it. Members also approved a short-term license letting contractor NUCO use roughly 10,000 square feet of Lincoln Meadows South through March 31 at $1,250 per month with a $10,000 restoration bond. The commission renewed Mark Klonowski's sap-tapping agreement at Barton Farm, endorsed three revolving-fund warrant articles, and continued hearings on a 15 Elmwood Ave. septic replacement and a Memorial Forest Eagle Scout boardwalk to Feb. 6.
