SPS Superintendent Search Working Group · Meeting of October 2, 2026
SUDBURY — The Sudbury Superintendent Search Working Group set stakeholder categories for a 13- to 17-member screening committee tasked with vetting candidates for the district's next superintendent. Members Betsy and Jessica voted 2-0 to adopt categories covering educators, parents by grade band, administrators, each school building, parent advisory councils, an at-large resident and a town representative. Working group member Carol Kavanaugh was tasked with building a Google application form for release October 5, with a 10-day response window closing around October 15.
The group plans to meet October 16 to recommend a slate to the full school committee's October 19 meeting. Members also previewed a community survey, built on a Collins Center template, asking respondents to name the top three challenges facing the next superintendent, saying "I think 10 days to respond is reasonable."
