Sudbury Sets September Primary, Opens Camp Sewataro Weekend Swim

The Town Clerk's office confirmed Tuesday, September 1, 2026, as the date for the State Primary, with ballot testing set for August 19, while the Town Manager's office announced new resident swim hours at Camp Sewataro this weekend.

TOWN HALL

The Town Clerk announced that the State Primary will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2026, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. All precincts will vote at the Fairbank Community Center. Ballot testing is scheduled for August 19 starting at 10 a.m. in Lower Town Hall at 322 Concord Road.

Separately, the Town Manager's office released updated information on the Camp Sewataro property, including a Sudbury Resident Swim open August 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Summer access hours at the property remain in effect Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. until dusk, and weekends from 9 a.m. until dusk.

The Treasurer's office reminded residents that real estate and personal property tax payments are due Monday, August 3, and must be received in the office by that date to avoid late charges, a deadline the town's News Flash has flagged in recent days as part of its broader tax and mortgage-relief push.

SCHOOLS

The Sudbury Public Schools district posted notices for two upcoming School Committee sessions: a Budget Subcommittee meeting on July 31 and a full School Committee meeting on August 3 at 7 p.m. at 40 Fairbank Road. The district's Anti-Hate Anti-Bias Taskforce also met July 29, continuing a series of sessions held earlier in the month.

On the youth-sports front, the district posted notices for LS Youth Baseball fall registration and SFFL Fall Flag Football, both aimed at Sudbury and Lincoln-Sudbury families preparing for the fall season.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Sudbury Senior Center continues to operate on its summer schedule — Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon — through September 30. Residents may begin registering for August non-fitness programs starting Monday, August 3, with non-residents able to register starting August 2; registration is handled by phone at (978) 443-3055 or by email.
