Sudbury capital committee backs five warrant articles, tables rail trail and Feeley Fields

SUDBURY — March 1, 2023 — Sudbury capital committee endorses roughly $1.86 million in warrant articles, tables two for missing detail. The Capital Improvement Advisory Committee unanimously recommended a $480,000 Curtis Middle School outdoor wellness area, $100,000 for Fairbank basketball court lights and fencing, $600,000 in pool dehumidification equipment, a $480,000 pool maintenance and repair fund, and $200,000 in added Fairbank audiovisual accessibility work. Member Tom Travers voted yes on the pool grout fund only with a formal recommendation that the town reconsider staggering the work, calling for "a real master plan on all the things that are wrong" with the pool. The Select Board separately approved $275,000 in reallocated ARPA funds to cover urgent dive-pool piping repairs during a 45-day shutdown. A $300,000 Bruce Freeman Rail Trail extension and $799,000 Feeley Fields phase two article were tabled pending cost breakdowns.
