Sudbury Senior Center Wins $225,000 Cummings Foundation Grant

SUDBURY — Sunshine Paving crews begin the town's 2026 annual paving project on Monday, July 13, part of a broader week that includes a HVAC design project for the library and DPW buildings, a scheduled mosquito spray operation, and continuing fallout from the federal sentencing of a Sudbury accountant on fraud charges.

TOWN HALL

The Department of Public Works announced that Sunshine Paving will begin work Monday, July 13 under the town's 2026 Annual Paving Project, with additional details available through the DPW's published schedule.

Separately, the town's Facilities office has begun soliciting HVAC design services for both the Goodnow Library and DPW buildings, according to the town's News Flash feed, with more information available through the Facilities Office at 275 Old Sudbury Road or online.

The Parks and Recreation Commission also announced two free FIFA World Cup watch parties at the Fairbank Community Center, scheduled for Saturday, July 18 at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 19 at 2:30 p.m.

SCHOOLS

The Sudbury Public Schools' School Committee released its agenda packet for the July 6 meeting, and the district posted a projected enrollment update as of July 1. Upcoming School Committee meetings are scheduled for July 20 and July 27, both from 7 to 10 p.m.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Goodnow Library will host a "Stay Safe Against Ticks & Mosquitos" program on Tuesday, July 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the library's Community Room, featuring live insects and interactive demonstrations, according to the town's Health Department.

At the Sudbury Senior Center, two upcoming programs were announced: an Ice Cream Social and Outdoor Games event on Tuesday, July 28, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., where attendees can build their own sundae, and a "Game Shows and Pizza with Kevin Richman" event on Tuesday, July 21, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., featuring recreations of classic game shows. The Senior Center also confirmed it received a $225,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation, awarded in June.
