Liberty Ledge subcommittee sets schedule, drafts research compilation outline
SUDBURY -- January 15, 2026, Sudbury's Liberty Ledge subcommittee sets cadence and drafts research outline at first working session. Select Board members Janie W. Dretler, named chair, and Daniel E. Carty tentatively set meetings for Jan. 28, Feb. 12 and Feb. 26 at 7 p.m., targeting March 9 to complete their work on the 44-acre, $11.3 million property. Carty pushed to drop public comment from future agendas, calling the group a working session; Dretler said the full board wanted the process "as transparent as possible," and the two agreed to ask the board Tuesday. Resident Len Simon of Meadowbrook Circle objected, citing roughly three-quarters of a million dollars in annual acquisition costs. Carty asked that the draft compilation include a 20-year grid of Sudbury land purchases normalized to current dollars, with columns for public access, revenue, maintenance, and ADA accessibility, citing Pantry Brook Farm as a comparison.
