SUDBURY — February 22, 2023 — Sudbury capital panel endorses fire truck, DPW and ADA articles but tables pool filtration vote. The Capital Improvement Advisory Committee on Feb. 22 worked through the Town Meeting warrant article by article, with Chair Matthew Dallas, Vice Chair Peter Iovanella, and members Thomas S. Travers, Lisa Saklad and Susan Asbedian-Ciaffi voting favorable recommendations on a new fire truck, roughly $43,000 in Priority 1 ADA upgrades, a $125,000 DPW office build-out, a DPW roof project paired with a third-party solar installation, and accessible walkways at Haskell, Davis and Heritage Park. Members tabled a pool filtration article, citing concerns that piecemeal repairs lacked a broader plan, and signaled hesitation on a $300,000 facilities and space-needs study. "It's a lot of money to just be another binder on the shelf," one member said.
